A clear read on where you stand, before anything else.

The Diagnostic is how we get to know each other. You share your picture, we study it closely, and we walk you through a personalized report together in a live review. It’s yours to keep, whether or not we go further.

Why we start with a Diagnostic.

We could hop on a quick call, take a rough guess at your situation, and send a quote. We have seen how that tends to go. The number either prices work you do not really need, or it signs us up for a level of service we cannot stand behind without knowing your full picture first. Neither side starts well that way.

The Diagnostic is the pre-work that fixes that. It lets us understand your real situation before anyone commits to anything, so the relationship starts on solid ground. It is also how we both learn whether we are a fit. We built it for people who are serious about getting their tax and financial planning right, with a professional team in their corner.

Your $500 is never wasted

A head start

Onboarding, already underway

The Diagnostic includes real pre-onboarding work. If you decide to hire Gnomon, that work carries straight over, so getting started is quicker and smoother.

A blueprint you keep

Findings, risks, and a plan

You walk away with your key findings, the risks worth your attention, and a clear plan of attack. Act on it with us, or take a run at it yourself. Either way you leave better informed.

A fair handoff

If we are not the fit

If another firm is better suited to you, we point you to one we trust and ask them to honor the $500 you already paid against their fee.

Yours to keep

Your records, handed back

Everything you gather and share for the Diagnostic stays yours. If you decide not to continue with us, we hand it all back in one organized packet your next preparer can use. The effort of pulling it together is never wasted.

What to expect, start to finish.

01

Sign and start

Begin by sharing a few details and reviewing the engagement letter for the Diagnostic. When you are comfortable moving forward, you sign it and complete payment. That is when we get started.

02

Give us access to your IRS records

Next, a short and secure process gives the Gnomon team access to your IRS records. This is the hard, quantitative side of the picture, and it only grows more useful as we get to know you and the people who matter to you.

03

Complete the Diagnostic Intake

The Diagnostic Intake is a focused questionnaire that fills in the context the numbers cannot show, who you are and what you are working toward. Work through it at your own pace in a single sitting. It ends by scheduling your live Gnomon Diagnostic Review over Google Meet.

04

We build your Diagnostic

This is where we go to work. We study who you are, what you are trying to accomplish, and how you think about money, including the experiences that shaped that view. Then we build your Diagnostic, a clear read on where the opportunities are, what they are, how they work, and why we believe they apply to you.

05

Your live Gnomon Diagnostic Review

We meet for 60 minutes over Google Meet to walk through what we found and answer your questions. You will have your Diagnostic at least 24 hours beforehand, so you have time to sit with it. Separately, we send a proposal built around your situation, with the solution we recommend and exactly what we would do, alongside our other services and their costs so you can see the whole picture.

Your review is scheduled for a reason.

Setting the review two or more weeks out isn’t a wait, it’s the work. That window is when we read your records, study your answers, and build the personalized report we’ll walk through together. By the time we meet, the thinking is done.

DAY 0

You finish your intake and your records are connected.

DAYS 1–14

We analyze your full picture and write your personalized Diagnostic report.

REVIEW

We walk through the report together, live, and you keep it.

After the review, the choice is yours.

The Diagnostic stands on its own, a complete, personalized read you keep regardless of what comes next. If it’s a fit on both sides, choosing to work together is what begins Calibration: your onboarding, and the start of the year-round relationship.
